Frequently asked questions

If the camera was previously online it may have lost power or restarted after a firmware update. See our Camera Not Connecting guide for step-by-step diagnosis.

Camera setup takes about 15 minutes. Mount the camera securely, power it on, then activate it in BuildCam by entering the serial number from the back panel. Within 10–15 minutes of activation you should see your first image appear in the gallery. See our Camera Setup guide for full instructions.

BuildCam sends automatic camera offline alerts when a camera misses a scheduled check-in. A Warning fires after 1 missed check-in and a Critical alert after 3 or more. You can adjust the alert sensitivity threshold and notification recipients per-camera in the Alerts section of your project settings.

By default, BuildCam captures one image per hour. You can configure the capture schedule in your camera settings — intervals range from every 15 minutes to once per day. You can also restrict capture to specific hours, such as sunrise to sunset, to avoid blank night-time images.

Team members are managed at the organisation level. Go to Account → Organisation Settings → Members and enter your colleague's email address. They'll receive an invitation to create a BuildCam account and gain access to your organisation's projects.
