How to Get a photoSentinel API Key

You can generate a photoSentinel API key any time from your Profile in Buildcam, to use with the photoSentinel Utilities app or for integrations with your own software.

Generate an API key

1. Open Profile from the bottom of the left navigation.
2. Scroll to the API keys section.
3. Click Generate new key.

The new key is revealed automatically. Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard for use in your integration. You can return to the API keys section any time to view or copy an existing key (use the eye icon to reveal it).

Disable or re-enable an API key

You can disable a key temporarily instead of deleting it, then re-enable it later:

• In the API keys section, un-tick the Enabled checkbox for the key to disable it.
• Tick the Enabled checkbox again to re-enable it.

Delete an API key

In the API keys section, click the delete (trash) icon next to the key you want to remove.

Note: once a key is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Any integration using that key will stop working.
