photoSentinel Utilities Guide
photoSentinel Utilities is an advanced tool for expert users. Support for this application has ended, and it is no longer available for download. We encourage users to utilise the Photo Synchronisation feature on the Photo Management page instead. We have provided the information below to assist existing users.
If you already have an existing copy of Utilities, you will need an API key to connect it to the Control Hub. You can learn how to get an API key here.
The photoSentinel Utilities application allows you to download and synchronise an installation’s photos with a local folder. You can also upload and synchronise the photo contents of a local folder with an installation.
Downloading photos from an installation to a local folder is typically used for back-up purposes.
Uploading photos from a local folder to an installation is typically used after collecting photos from the photoSentinel’s local SSD storage. An example would be local SSD photo collection after a high-frequency shooting session, where it may not be economical to upload every photo over the cellular network.
NOTE: Cloud services plans allow you to forward your photos once. If you have already forwarded photos once and plan to use photoSentinel Utilities to download these photos again, you will need to purchase more data for photo forwarding.
Synchronise photos with the cloud
photoSentinel utilities has several functions designed to let your synchronize your installation’s photos and local folder’s photos.
Select photoSentinel installation
Choose the desired photoSentinel installation from the drop-down menu. This is the installation that will provide the photos for your selected local folder.
Select local folder
Choose your local folder on your computer or storage medium. This is the folder you will download photos to from the installation. You could use this local folder instead to upload photos to your selected installation.
Check for missing photos to upload
When used, this function will ask you to specify a time-frame and compare the installation’s photos against the local folder. It will then upload from the local folder any photos that are absent from the installation.
Check for missing photos to download
When used, this function will ask you to specify a time-frame and compare the local folder against the installation’s photos. It will then download from the installation to the local folder any photos that are absent.
Manage local files offline
If you are unable to connect to Control Hub for whatever reason, you can manage local files without a connection, including copying, moving, or deleting them.
