Choosing a date range in Studio

Studio's date range sets which captures go into your timelapse. The calendar lives in the Configuration panel and marks the days your camera actually captured, so the range you pick always matches real footage. This explains how the calendar and the quick options behave.

Why only capture days can be picked

A timelapse is built from the photos the camera took. Days with at least one capture are marked in the calendar, and only a marked day can be chosen as your start or end. Unmarked days are dimmed and cannot be selected as an endpoint, so your range can never begin or end on a day with no footage.

Days without captures in between your start and end are fine — a range does not need a photo on every day, only on the two ends.

Picking dates in the calendar

Click a marked day to start your range, then click another marked day to finish it. The current selection shows next to the quick options. Use the month and year controls above the calendar to move back through the feed's history; you cannot navigate earlier than the feed's first capture or later than today in the camera's time zone.

Using the quick options

7d and 30d set a recent window ending at the feed's most recent capture. Each one resolves to the nearest capture day at each end of that window, so the range always lands on real footage even if the camera missed a few days recently.

A quick option is disabled when it has nothing to select:

• While capture days are still loading, it reads "Loading capture days…".
• If the window holds no captures at all, it reads "No captures in the last N days".

Hover a disabled option to see which of these applies.

Good to know

• The two-step selection means your first click sets the start and the second sets the end. Clicking a new day after a complete range starts a fresh selection.
• Changing the range clears an out-of-date preview — apply again in the Configuration panel to regenerate it for the new range.
• The first and last frame update as soon as you change the range, so you can confirm the new span before rendering.

Common questions

Why is a day greyed out? The camera has no capture on that day, so it cannot be the start or end of a video. Pick a marked day instead.

A quick option is disabled — why? Either the capture days are still loading, or that window has no captures at all. The tooltip on the option tells you which.

Can my range include days with no photos? Yes, in the middle. Only the first and last day of the range must be capture days.
