Migration Guide: moving from the legacy platform to Sentinel OS
A lexicon for customers moving from the legacy PhotoSentinel platform to Sentinel OS: what the old terms and locations are called now.
If you used the legacy PhotoSentinel platform (Control Hub), welcome to Sentinel OS. Almost everything you did before is still here; it has been renamed or moved. This guide maps the old words and places to the new ones so you can find your way around quickly.

What things are called now

The Admin area groups everything that governs your organisation: People, Subscription, and Equipment (Controllers and SIM cards), with Organisation settings reached from the gear on the Admin page.
What's new in Sentinel OS
A few areas have no legacy equivalent; they are new to Sentinel OS:
- Projects and the site map — group a site's cameras, and place each camera on a map of the site.
- Site History — scrub back through every camera on a site at any moment in the past.
- Ops Mode — put a site's cameras on a big screen as a live wallboard.
- Studio — produce timelapse videos from your feeds (Org Admins).
- Notifications — one place for alerts and updates, with per-user preferences.
Not in Sentinel OS yet
Some legacy features aren't available yet. Nothing you had has been lost; these are capabilities that haven't been rebuilt:
- Hiding photos. In the legacy platform you could hide a photo and unhide it later. Sentinel OS doesn't have this yet. Anything you hid before stays hidden and carries over as it was.
- Adding users and SIM cards yourself. Inviting users and managing SIM cards in the app are coming soon. In the meantime, contact your Account Manager.
