Access Groups

An Access Group bundles several users together so you can manage their access as a unit instead of one person at a time. Adding a user to a group gives them the access the group has; a user can belong to more than one group and gains the combined access of all of them.

Where to find it

In Buildcam, open Settings from the navigation, then the Access groups tab. Each group is listed with its Name, Description, and the number of Users it contains. Use the search box to find a group by name or description.

How groups relate to access

A group's access comes from two places:

  • Default Access — permissions applied to every new project, assigned to the group on the Default access tab.
  • Project access — access to specific projects, which grants every member of the group access to those projects.

Managing a whole team through one group keeps permissions consistent and makes onboarding a new user as simple as adding them to the right group.
