You decide how Sentinel OS reaches you and what it notifies you about. Notification settings let you set your delivery methods, switch whole categories on or off, and even mute a single camera. This guide shows you how.

Before you start

  • Open Notification settings from the gear icon on the Notifications page.
  • Your changes save as you make them, so there is no separate save step.

Set your delivery method

Under Notification delivery method, turn each method on or off:

  • In-app — notifications in Sentinel OS. On by default.
  • Email — notifications to your email. On by default. If your email isn't verified, a warning appears.

Note: SMS and push delivery are coming soon. Their toggles may appear but aren't active yet.

Turn categories on or off

Under Notification categories, switch each category on or off:

  • Projects — project milestones and member activity.
  • Equipment — camera health and storage.
  • Platform — billing, security, and announcements.

Mute a single camera

When Equipment is on, you can expand it to a per-camera list and turn notifications off for individual cameras, which is useful for a camera you already know is down for maintenance.

Done

You will now be notified only about what you chose, through the methods you chose.

Good to know

  • Changes save automatically as you toggle them.
  • Turning off a category stops all of its notifications; muting a single camera is more precise when you only want to silence one device.
  • Critical account alerts such as a failed payment are important enough that they reach you regardless of category settings.

Common questions

Can I get notifications by SMS or push? Not yet. Those delivery methods are coming soon; in-app and email are available now.

I changed a setting on my phone and it didn't stick. Why? Manage your notification preferences on the web app for now. The mobile preferences screen isn't wired to save yet.

Why am I still getting a payment alert I turned off? Critical account alerts are always delivered because they need your attention.
