How to manage your notifications
Find, filter, and mark your notifications as read on the Notifications page.
The Notifications page is where you catch up on everything Sentinel OS has told you about your cameras, projects, and account. This guide shows you how to find your way around it and keep it under control.
Before you start
- Open the Notifications page from the bell icon in the top-right, or from its unread badge.
Filter by category
The page has four tabs, each with its own unread count: All, Projects, Equipment, and Platform. Select a tab to focus on one kind of notification, for example Equipment when you want camera health only.
Read a notification
Select a notification to mark it as read. If it links to something (a project, a camera, an invoice), selecting it takes you there. Unread notifications are marked with an accent so they stand out.
Mark everything read
Select Mark all read to clear your unread count in one go. It is disabled when nothing is unread.
Load older notifications
If you have more than fit on the page, select Load more to bring in older notifications.
Done
Your inbox is under control and your unread count reflects what you still need to look at.
Good to know
- The unread badge on the bell mirrors your inbox, so clearing notifications here updates the badge.
- Equipment notifications name the camera involved, so you can tell which device a health alert is about without opening it.
- Selecting a notification that links somewhere both marks it read and takes you to the relevant screen.
Common questions
Can I dismiss or delete a notification? You can mark notifications as read. Equipment alerts also show a status (Active, Recovered, Dismissed) that reflects the state of the underlying problem.
Why do some notifications take me to another screen? Many notifications link to what they are about, such as a project or an invoice, so selecting them is the quickest way to act on them.
