How to edit a feed's details

A feed's details are its name, its location on the map, and its timezone. Keeping them accurate matters: the name is how everyone finds the camera, the location places it on the site map, and the timezone keeps its capture times correct. This guide shows you how to edit them.

Before you start

• Editing a feed's details is an administrator task. If you don't see an Edit option, your role has viewing access rather than management access.

Step 1 — Open the feed's details

Open the feed (from the Feeds dashboard or a project), then select the General section. It shows the feed's name, address, and timezone.

Step 2 — Make your changes

Select Edit. You can then change:

• Name — what the feed is called across the app.
• Address — start typing to search for an address, or drag the pin on the map to set the exact position. The coordinates update as you move the pin.
• Timezone — pick the timezone the camera should use for its schedule.

Step 3 — Save

Select Save. Your changes apply immediately and the feed shows its new details.

Done

The feed's details are updated everywhere it appears.

Good to know

• Setting the location accurately matters beyond the map: the coordinates are used for site features like weather, so drop the pin where the camera actually is.
• The timezone controls how the capture schedule is interpreted, so a wrong timezone can shift capture times. Set it to the site's local timezone.
• Renaming a feed changes it everywhere at once, including inside every project it belongs to.

Common questions

Why can't I edit some fields? Editing is limited to administrators. If the fields are read-only for you, your role has viewing access.

Does changing the address move the camera on the site map? Yes. The location you set here is where the feed appears on the project's site map.
