How to watch the livestream

When a camera has a livestream, you can switch from its recorded images to a live view to see the site as it is right now. This guide shows you how.

Before you start

• The camera needs an active livestream. Livestream runs during the window set on its Livestream schedule, so if the live view is unavailable it may be outside that window.

Watch the live view

Open the camera's gallery and switch from Gallery to Livestream using the toggle in the toolbar. The live view loads in place of the recorded images. Switch back to Gallery to return to the captured images.

Good to know

• Livestream is available during its scheduled window. Outside that window, the live view may not be available. See Set a capture schedule to check or change the Livestream schedule.
• The livestream loads only when you open it, so ordinary gallery browsing stays fast.

Common questions

The livestream won't load. Why? The most common reason is that the current time is outside the camera's Livestream schedule window. Check the schedule, and confirm the camera is online in its diagnostics.

Does watching the livestream use my data? Streaming video uses more data than browsing still images, so keep that in mind on a metered connection.
