Alert: Below Voltage Threshold

Alert Details

The battery voltage has dropped below the configured warning threshold. The default threshold for the Tempo/Mach II is 7500mV.

Possible Event Code Triggers

  • Battery Voltage getting too low (VBT)

You can find the triggering event code and when it occurred on the feed's Diagnostics tab in Buildcam.

Troubleshooting

Remote Troubleshooting

  • If you are receiving alerts too frequently, you can lower the warning threshold. On the feed's Schedule tab, open Advanced Settings and set Voltage threshold to trigger alert (mV) (we recommend 7500), then Save advanced settings.
  • You can lower the system’s power consumption by taking and uploading fewer photos. You can adjust these on the feed’s Schedule tab in Buildcam (the Weekly Schedule for Tempo or Mach II running APEX firmware, or When to take photos and Upload / Connection settings for Mach II).
  • Updating to the latest firmware can improve system behaviour. Contact our Support Team to update the firmware remotely.

On-site Troubleshooting

  • If the voltage graph on the feed’s Diagnostics tab doesn't show much voltage increase, check that the solar panel:
    • is orientated correctly for your location
    • is not in the shadow of nearby trees or structures
    • is clean
  • Reconnect power input to the photoSentinel unit and test the voltage by viewing the feed’s voltage log on the Diagnostics tab. If the voltage is still low, test with a replacement AC charger or solar panel.
  • Replace the current battery with a fully charged battery.
